MS. SABRINA ANN SCHMITT

Owner

Sabrina began her dance career at age 6 with Marian Schatz in West Union by taking Tap lessons. Under the training of Marian, Sabrina's love for performing was instantaneous. As she grew and entered high school, Sabrina met Kate and Roger Barloon at Turkey Valley High School. The Barloon's quickly noticed her love for the fine arts and thus a wonderful artistic relationship began. Under their direction, Sabrina took part in musicals, helped start her high school dance team, became a cheerleader, was a member of the 1996 state championship color guard and began training at Kate's dance studio. During college at UIU, Sabrina was a 4 year captain and choreographer for cheer and dance. It was at UIU that Sabrina met Shelly Abernathy. They remain close friends and work together to this day. As Sabrina's adventure thru college continued, she continued to work with Kate and her studio. As her college experience was coming to a close, a phone call from Kate came that changed her path in life; First Step Studio was handed down to her from Kate. With a Business Degree in hand, Sabrina became the official owner of the now, Expressions Dance Studio, in August of 2000. The studio will continue its 24th season this fall, with Sabrina at the helm for 17 years.
